Mr. Maurer has over 20 years of experience managing wealth.  His combined expertise as a certified financial planner and licensed attorney helps to provide his clients with a comprehensive approach not often available.

Christopher J. Maurer graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics with distinction.  He received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1981.  He also attended the University of Colorado School of Business.

Mr. Maurer practiced law in Colorado from 1981-1987, specializing in the areas of tax and business planning for closely-held businesses and their owners.  His work in this area included estate planning, business organizations, employee benefit plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, probate, and business transfer.  He authored “Estate Tax Apportionment” in The Colorado Lawyer, a statewide publication of the Colorado Bar Association, and was an approved instructor in Estate and Gift Taxation for the American College of Life Underwriters.

In 1987 Chris moved to Texas and joined a major life insurance company as an Advanced Underwriting Attorney.   In that capacity, Chris was responsible for assisting and training over 2000 financial services representatives in a 9 state region in the areas of insurance, securities, estate and gift taxation and business planning.  He also conducted continuing education classes for CPAs in Texas.

Mr. Maurer was admitted to practice law in Wisconsin, 1981; Colorado, 1983; and Texas, 1991.  He also holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Certified Financial Planner ™ designations. Chris has two children.  He attends St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.  He is and has been involved with many community organizations, including youth sports.
